Horizons · the intelligence a pool unlocks

What many hands can see that one cannot

Pooling isn't just coverage — it changes what the system can infer. Eight capabilities the exchange enables, each with its honest state, and the three refusals welded into the architecture so competitors can hand it their data without fear.

Three refusals, before any capability

An exchange between competitors survives only if the hard limits are structural. These are design facts, enforced by schema and licence — not policies a future operator could quietly relax.

No purpose creep, ever — the shared channel carries traffic state only: never pricing, users, fleet, strategy or advertising, so it is technically incapable of being a cartel or a profiling tool.
No re-identification, even under order — no identities accepted, no trajectories stored, coordinates coarsened before persistence, per-member rotating salts unlinkable across the pool.
No enclosing the pool — fused outputs carry a share-alike national-data-commons licence and the registry stays open, so no member, including the founder, can privatise what the crowd built.

Eight capabilities, honestly labelled

Proven in engine means measured on AnOmbak's live gateway; in design means specified against running code; proposed and charter guarantee name what the exchange, not yet a product, commits to.

Proven in engine

The density crossover — measured, not modeled

The whole thesis reduced to one production line: the fusion gate counts total samples on a road, not samples per app. We ran it against the live gateway — one thin crowd left a road grey (HTTP 404); a second on the same road lit it (confidence 0.24); four raised it to 0.40. Pooling opens the gate with zero code changes.

In design

Leading-hazard sensing across pools

Kinetic Crowd Sensing reads traffic physics — car-following models and shock-wave slopes over pooled braking — to flag a hazard forming upstream before the visible queue. A pooled field sees a wave a single thin crowd can't: enough distinct peers, moving against traffic, to admit the pattern and stay silent on a benign slowdown.

In design

Per-member learned trust

Each member's readings carry a per-road-class trust weight learned against eventual consensus; a company whose data systematically diverges decays automatically, and the published output is never worse than the most-trusted single input. A bad feed can't poison the national map — it just stops being believed.

In design

Cross-source corroboration that can't be farmed

A confirmation fold needs distinct member × pseudonym pairs. Two users of one app agreeing is worth little; one driver from Company A and one from Company B agreeing is worth a lot. Consensus cannot be manufactured from inside a single crowd — the very thing that makes competitors willing to pool.

Proposed

Reciprocity as a learned function

Pull tier is a deterministic, published function of recent contribution quality × quantity — the existing per-source trust mechanism, keyed now on member_id. Contribute, stream real-time; go quiet, degrade live → delayed → stale, never a cliff. The meter is auditable by every member, so it can't quietly favour the founder.

Proposed

A national prior, learned by everyone

Pooled, anonymised segment-crossing times become a shared learned-ETA prior no single Malaysian app could amass alone — the same substrate that lets one app predict a green-wave, now fed by every member's traffic and returned, richer, to all. Differentiation stays above the layer; the layer itself compounds.

Charter guarantee

Testable neutrality

The reference implementation is deterministically reproducible: any member can run its own instance against the same spec and diff the fused output, proving the operator adds no hidden privilege. Combined with a protected fork right, neutrality is a checkable property of the system, not a promise in a contract.

Charter guarantee

The honesty gate, held at the national seam

Below the k-anonymity floor a segment reads unknown, not a guess; below a data-plane failure it returns an actionable empty state with degraded:true, not a fabricated colour. The single rule that keeps a small app honest is inherited verbatim by the exchange — the pool is never allowed to lie more confidently than its members.

Every idea above traces to a measured run, a licence term or a published piece of traffic physics. The floor is on the Evidence page.
